Villa Sochi: A Stunning Residential House

Alexandra Fedorova Creates an Airy and Interactive Design

Villa Sochi, designed by Alexandra Fedorova, is a unique residential house located high in the mountains near Sochi. This stunning villa offers breathtaking views of the surrounding green mountains and the sea. With its innovative design and attention to detail, Villa Sochi stands out as a remarkable example of modern architecture.

The inspiration for Villa Sochi came from the Mobius strip, a mathematical shape that represents infinity. The exterior of the house features a white strip that resembles the Mobius strip, creating a sense of movement and fluidity. The trapezium-shaped stairs leading to the main entrance add to the architectural appeal of the building. By elevating the house, the designers were able to maximize the views without compromising the structure's stability.

The design of Villa Sochi is characterized by its unique properties. The public area is located on the ground floor, with a spacious living room, kitchen, and dining room. The living room features panoramic glazing, providing a seamless connection to the terrace and pool. The villa's layout ensures that every room benefits from natural light and stunning views.

The construction of Villa Sochi involved a monolithic reinforced concrete frame filled with foam blocks. The facade is faced with granite and covered with plaster, creating a sleek and modern look. The total floor area of the villa is 600 square meters, with balconies and terraces covering an additional 433 square meters.

One of the main challenges in designing Villa Sochi was the high seismicity level of the area. The engineers had to ensure that the building could withstand earthquakes of up to 9 points on the Richter scale. Despite these challenges, the designers managed to create a structure that defies gravity, with an 8-meter console on the first floor. The locals affectionately refer to Villa Sochi as the "flying saucer."

Villa Sochi was completed in 2015 after five years of planning and construction. The design team, led by Alexandra Fedorova and Sergei Kaliuta, conducted extensive research on construction technologies suitable for seismic areas. The result is a masterpiece that seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings while providing a luxurious and comfortable living space.

Villa Sochi has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious A' Design Award in 2016. This award recognizes the exceptional creativity, technical expertise, and innovation demonstrated by the design. Villa Sochi's unique design and its ability to create a harmonious interaction with the environment make it a true architectural gem.
